[December] Reader of the Month : Johann Sia of 8E

December is a busy month for everyone – students and teachers alike. Amidst all the preparation for the holiday season, it is interesting to see students busily reading a book at the HS LRC. Johann Isaac Sia of Grade 8E is one of the students who are caught reading a book in the HS LRC.  According to him, reading is equally important as any other occasion.  In fact, Johann loves to read any type of story with no particular genre as long as it interests him.

Johann is obviously an avid reader and is always happy whenever he sees new books being displayed in the HS LRC.  It excites him so much that he won’t let the day pass without borrowing a book from the new books displayed.

Sharing stories with his mom makes reading more enjoyable & memorable for Johann. One of his favorite books in the LRC is the novel “I am Legend” by Richard Matheson.  It is an interesting book about a man named Robert who is the only survivor of the plague that has converted the rest of humanity to vampires and his mission is to destroy the attackers and dispose their bodies before they could infect him. Other titles and series that fascinate him are Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire) by George R. R. Martin , Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart, and Across the Universe by Beth Revis.
